A long-time statistics showed that a typical site with about 60 software data points (or, 25-30 physical I/O) refreshed every 5 s (in RcWare Vision settings: Group reading Yes, Refresh rate 5000 ms) consumes about 90 MB received and 125 MB sent data per month.
This information can be a starting point when negotiating the mobile connection data tariffs.
The data volume may be reduced strongly if the refresh period is increased. As only changed values are communicated, the data volume increases in a lesser scale when the datapoints number rises. The SSCP communication protocol has an auto-adapting function, so if the bandwith is limited intentionally e.g. on a router, the SCADA to PLC communication only extends its refresh rate. A bandwith of about 50 kbps is OK for a 400 physical datapoint site.
