Mark and wall Process Stations

Process stations IPLC are still available, as well as the support for those products. More information here.

mark320_web The mark… process stations bring flexibility of free programmable devices to the I/O module level. Thanks to modern technologies, Domat offers compact controllers IMIO110 (16 I/O) and ICIO205 (30 I/O) with Ethernet and RS485 in the new range of PLCs. For larger sites, the markMX with 88 I/O is the right choice. Compact process stations combine the control unit and I/O modules in one housing, which makes installation easier. It is still possible to extend the system with standard I/O modules over the RS485 interface. The Ethernet interface is used for programming and client communication, such as SCADA, web browser, or 3rd party programs.

Process station with no integrated I/Os can be used both in standard control system with I/O modules, and as free programmable protocol converters and communicators. Models with one RS485 port (mark100, mark125, mark220), with two RS485 and two RS232 ports (mark320), and with integrated M-Bus converter for up to 10 M-Bus slaves (mark150/485) are available. These process stations are perfect for small sites, such as compact heat exchange stations, small home controllers, or heat pump and small AHU controllers.

The controllers use different operating systems depending on the processors used in the hardware. ARM® Cortex® with real-time operating system FreeRTOS is used at the smallest platforms (for about 20 to 30 physical datapoints), in the more powerful process stations MPC5200 with OS Linux can be found. Controllers for panel door installation (mark120, mark125) feature IP65 protection degree.

The mark… process stations are part of the open controller range by Domat Control System. Free Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP servers are supplied for 3rd party integration, it is possible to integrate heat, electricity and water meters, as well as other technologies (e.g. VSDs and heat pumps) at the automation level, because the process stations support standard protocols – M-Bus and Modbus RTU / TCP, and BACnet/IP client and server at selected models.

All process stations feature a web server for customer visualisation. The web pages are presented in HTML 5 standard, which gives compatibility with all modern browsers. The web pages editor is integrated in the Merbon IDE programming tool.

All controllers also have an Ethernet port which is used for client connections, web access, and configuration. The SSCP protocol, which is used for configuration, programming, and process data communication, is fit for open Internet communication because of autentification. It can also be transmitted over RS485, which allows using existing serial lines e.g. at refurbished sites. It also makes possible to upload new software to the controllers on a remote basis. The controllers also support direct writing into Merbon DB database and Proxy server, which simplifies communication to controllers which are located in corporate networks where neither NAT mapping nor VPN communication is possible.

SoftPLC Engineering Tool

SoftPLC IDE is a software package for application development, or programming of the control system. There are runtimes installed in the process stations which process the project data. A runtime may also be run as a system service (no need for user login etc.).

Web Access

The mark… and wall... PLC values are accessible through different ways. The LCD display at the PLC is used for quick operation, alarm acknowledgment and change of setpoints and time schedules. In Merbon IDE there are functions for LCD menu editing, drawing of graphic panels for the HT200 terminal, and graphics for mobile applications.

Touchscreen and Web Panel

Graphical human-machine interface (HMI) plays an important role in the SoftPLC family. However, it may be used not only for the Domat Control System I/O modules and SoftPLC process logic. The runtime is able to run as a data source for SCADA. In those applications, only I/O channels and variables are defined, there are no PLC functions in the runtime. Therefore no PLC programming knowledge is necessary to set up the communication.

Merbon IDE – Third party drivers and licensing policy

The Merbon IDE development environment supports standard communication protocols, such as M-Bus, Modbus, or IEC62056-21. Some applications, however, require integration of a third-party device using a proprietary protocol over a serial line or Ethernet. Merbon IDE allows development of customized drivers in the ST programming language, which bring more flexibility and independence to the software engineers.
