Zámek Hrádek Hotel

zamek-hradek-wellnessNot far than six miles north-west from the Czech town of Sušice there is a village named Hrádek. In Hrádek, there is a castle which was reconstructed in 2010 and reopened as Hotel Zámek Hrádek (Castle Hrádek Hotel) with 22 rooms and a wellness center. The building is kind of a schoolbook of architectural styles which merge with each other and thus compose a single harmonic complex. There is also a restaurant, Museum of František Pravda (Czech priest and writer), Chapel of St. Walpurga, and a park on the premises.

In the castle wellness the guests are welcomed by an airy glass-tiled swimming pool hall full of light, with a beautiful view on a pond. The hall offers an unique place for relaxation in a pool with pleasantly warm water, counterflow, pool waterspout, and water nozzles. Part of the wellness is a sauna world with four kinds of sauna.

The building technologies are, however, hidden from the visitors’ eyes. The whole building is controlled by Domat, including swimming pool technologies, like water heating, circulation, and chemical and UV sanitation. Pool air pumps, waterspouts, wall massage, and counterflow are controlled according to time schedules, as is pool illumination. There are also digital outputs in the system to enable operation of two steam rooms, Finnish sauna, and infrared sauna. There are three air handling units in the installation: swimming pool, changing rooms, and wellness. The units are controlled also according to room humidity. Hot heating water is brought from the existing heating source into the distributor which supplies two heating circuits (central radiator heating and floor heating), heating of the pool and AHUs, and charging of the DHW tank.

The project was designed and installed by Elkom, based in Pilsen. Elkom Plzeň s.r.o. supplies turnkey projects of building control systems for residential and commercial buildings since 1993.
